Started at a Young Age

Brent & I both started our love for livestock at a young age!
We used to raise baby calves outside in hutches.  We are very happy for the enclosed calf barn come cold, windy nights.  My mom used to keep me entertained when I was a kid by putting a couple young piglets in the yard with me....free babysitting! :-)

Who We Are?

Brent & I dairy farm in partnership with his parents outside Rockford.  We milk ~70 cows, which means we are on-call, 24/7/365.  We farm ~300 acres that raises corn and alfalfa to feed the cows.  Brent's parents farm an additional 500 acres of corn and soybeans.  70 cows isn't nearly enough to support two families, so I also work full-time for Bethany Swine Health Services, working with pork producers across Northern Illinois to help make their farms better.
My goal is to share what really happens on farms every day to produce safe, wholesome, affordable food for you and your family.

Here are some pics from around the farm!

These heifers are nearly a year old.

Learning to Blog

I'm off in Des Moines this week, learning how to blog about our farm and my life.  Unfortunately, that means Brent is stuck home by himself.  Pray that everything stays nice, dry, and calm with no unwelcome surprises.
